I don't remember
there was a cat
there was a drill
fire quickly spread
the cat springed and hid in the cupboard
Ofcourse he had to jump into the highest
nook he could find
I had to get the chair and drag it across the floor
paint and varnish peelings dragged along with us
I and the chair
the chair had a life
many a thought and feeling sat here
the weight continually shrinks and swells with
each passing season
It sits a century later in a corner
painted and stripped several times over
with a string I draw a knot over a rubber spider
the cat leaps and chases
as I run leading him down the stairs

Lovely - i loved the lines:

I take it that's a painting of yours? - you are very talented ...
Thankyou Graham..painting gosh no..its a photo of me and my cat "Avanga" ( which in Tongo mean to avenge) in 1985..that cat was a terror. I picked him up from an animal shelter..he was already called graffiti..I never met a cat before or since that could run along walls..for fun he would bounce of sleeping bodies..I had him for over 10 yrs..untill my son was born and he began to growl like a panther
ReplyDeletehehe ... wow ... even now, when I enlarged it, the pic still looks looks like a painting ... :) ... it's still a great image ... when I first saw it and thought it was a painting I was thinking to myself how nicely you'd captured the shadows ... I guess I'd make a lousy art critic ... :(
ReplyDeleteAvanga sounds like he had quite a character hey ...
It is an interesting composition, taken at night , its low resolution so it looks rather grainy...
ReplyDeleteyou take great photos..you don't need to be a critic..:)
